A Safavid style painting of two camel riders, Iran, 20th century, opaque pigments and ink on paper heightened with gilt, the courtier carrying a sword and bow, the lady facing backwards and playing a harp-like instrument, mounted, glazed and framed, painting 16.7 x 12.5cm. Provenance: Acquired by Eric Crowe, son of diplomat Sir Eyre Crowe (1864-1925), when he was posted to Tehran as a British diplomat between 1939-41 and thence by descent to Sir Brian Crowe (1938-2020) and family.
