A Safavid style painting of a man with his birds, Iran, 20th century, opaque pigments and ink on paper heightened with gilt, depicted seated with cages at his feet, a bird perched on one finger, mounted, glazed and framed, painting 15 x 11.2cm. Provenance: Acquired by Eric Crowe, son of diplomat Sir Eyre Crowe (1864-1925), when he was posted to Tehran as a British diplomat between 1939-41 and thence by descent to Sir Brian Crowe (1938-2020) and family.
