A group of seven wood Greek Orthodox Prosphora seals, 18th-19th century, comprising two large oval seals depicting the Byzantine double-headed eagle, 18.5cm. long, a circular seal depicting a saint and inscribed in Greek, 9.7cm. diam., a circular seal of Mount Athos, a circular seal with a flower head, two rectangular seals and an olive wood letter opener with figure, 35.2cm. long (7) Provenance: Theo Sarmas (d. 2018) collection in London since early 1960s. Property from the private collection of Theo Sarmas 1938 -2018. Theo Sarmas was a London businessman who was a passionate collector of Byzantine ceramics and Greek coinage. Princeton University, New Jersey holds the Theo Sarmas collection of medieval Greek coinage. Please refer to department for condition report
