after IFFLAND, FRANZ (Berlin 1862-1935 ibid.), sculpture: "Girl playing with a cat", bronze, dark brown and light brown patinated and color accentuated, recessed signed "F. Iffland" and with place name "Paris" as well as foundry plaque with monogram, jug symbol and "Bronze Austria" inscribed; modern casting. Full sculptural, naturalistic depiction of a girl in a moving pose sitting on a chair and playing with a cat. The Berlin sculptor Iffland, who created portrait busts, genre and animal figures, and later Art Nouveau and Art Deco sculptures mostly of young women, was a regular at Berlin exhibitions (Academy Exhibitions, International Exhibition in 1891 and Great Art Exhibition in 1893). Iffland held a professorship in sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin. H. 22 x L. 13 x W. 12,5 cm.
