An unusual Chinese gilt enamel vase with medallion panels of illustrated bunny and fox scenes, dating from the Republic period. From a flared, flower shaped base the foot slopes inwards then widens to sloping shoulders, which are adorned with two gild beasts holding rings in their mouths. Curved neck and short vertical rim with four rounded sides. Colorful pink, green, white flowers throughout with raised, curving lines of gilt. Four character stamp on turquoise glazed base.
