A unique pair of Japanese mixed metal vases with rooster design, dating from the Meiji period. From a small curved base rises a wide, flat shaped body with two sides, one adorned with rooster and the other a nature scene. Neck rising from flat shoulder with ornaments on each side, with oval shaped mouth. Scrolling flowers in mixed metal on the sides of the vase. Thickly cast, the vases are weighty.
