A Japanese bronze silver inlaid covered jar, dating from the Meiji period. Smaller base expands to a wide cylinder style jar, which tapers at the top to a smaller mouth. Two ring handles hang from beast with horns on sides. Inlaid silver characters inside of lid and written into the base. Rings of incised design throughout the jar. H. 9 12" (24.1 cm) Condition: good condition overall for age and use, with rim chip on one side of lid, possibly from an impact.
