A Chinese gilt bronze buddha figure on a horse, dating from the19th century. The Buddha figure has a square opening at his seat that fits into a square pin rising from the back of the horse. He holds a religious article in each hand as he rides and wears a splendid armour outfit. Horse: D. 8 1/4" (20.1 cm) overall: H. 8 1/2 (21.6 cm) collection of a private Connecticut collector Condition: good condition overall for age and use. Much of the gilt is intact. The ornament at top of Buddha headpiece bent from its pin and a bit shaky.
