This antique set is a delicate fine china, thin and lovely. The large bowl is 9 1/2" across, 2" above table top at the rim; the 10 individual bowls are 4 1/2" across, 1" high. This set was created for desserts, sometime referred to as a berry bowl set. The very first Blue Willow patterns did not have the pair of doves above the scene (like this set); the doves were added later when the story of the two lovers was incorporated into the scene. I have the story listed here, under older blue willow, and I have pink willow listed here, also. This set has a few tiny spots or rough edges, not surprising with its age and delicacy.
