LARGE AESTHETIC BROWN TRANSFERWARE PLATTER SITKA PATTERN Hughes Potteries Burslem, Staffordshire England c. 1885 This Victorian aesthetic 16 " long x 12 3/4 " wide is transfer printed in chocolate brown. The clear and crisp SITKA pattern features a border of geometric designs with small cartouches of sailboats and Japanesque flowers. The well of the platter is adorned with delicate wildflowers and larger vignettes of exotic flowers, geometrics and sailing schooners. The pattern displays the victorian eras love of nature and travel to exotic lands. Condition is EXCELLENT, clean and bright. No chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs.
