A Chinese longquan ware celadon glazed tripod jar, dating from the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). Shaped like a beehive, with wide rounded base tapering to an narrow opening at the top, the glaze has wavelike incised design throughout the form. Within the honeycomb design are several curved symbols. The rim is thickly rounded, with a lamp hole in base, between the three squat tripod legs. Accompanied by a wooden stand with gold painted design. H: 9" (22.8 cm) collection of a private Long Island collector Condition: in good condition overall with a drilled hole to the bottom
