Chinese ,Ming Dynasty, the horse standing foursquare on a rectangular base, with the head looking toward,the ears pricked,the cropped mane forming a fringe along the neck, a saddle and saddle cloth draped over the back and an elaborate harness and strapwork over the face and body, principally glazed in amber and green ,the groom dressed in a tunic ,trousers, and cap, the arms suspended mid- movement and the face looking forward, covered mainly in black and green glaze Horse H: 14 1/2“ (37 cm) D: 13" (33 cm) Groom H: 10 1/2" (26.5 cm) Provenance: collection of H.H Pao Family Condition: all in good condition ,one of the horse's leg has been reattached, the head of the groom has been restored, with surface wear and glaze flake throughout
