This original Antique, Bird Portuguese Tile was made in Portugal in the period (1706–1750) and it is in good condition! The tile is made of an elegant white ceramic, detailed with a glazed finish and it is decorated with a bird from the 18th century in a charming blue color. Item Details & Specifics: The late 17th century and the early 18th century was considered to be the 'Golden Age of the Tile’, the so-called Cycle of the Masters. Mass production was started not just because of a greater internal demand, but also because of very large orders from Brazil. Large one-off orders were replaced by the less expensive use of repetitive tile patterns. Churches, monasteries, palaces and even houses were covered inside and outside with tiles, many with exuberant Baroque elements. Note: See in the photo gallery tiles like this in big palaces and churches in Portugal. For examples of similar tiles in monuments, see the photos. Item condition: Good condition, some flaws on the sides. Condition is appropriate for age and use. See photos forplete assessment. Date: 18th century. Country: Portugal. Material: Tin-glazed Pottery. Dimensions: Height: 5.7 inches / 14.5 centimeters Width: 5.7 inches / 14.5 centimeters Depth: 0.39 / 1 centimeters *Please Note: This item is located in Lisbon, Portugal (EU) and will be ped from this location.
