For sale is a lovely vase made by The Rookwood Potterypany of Cincinnati, Ohio. The vase has an ovoid shape. The vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 4 7/8" tall and is 3 1/2" in diameter at its widest point. The bottom has a diameter of 2 1/2". The vase has a wonderful tapered ovoid shape. The vase starts small at the top and tapers ever so gracefully out to the bulbous bottom. It is decorated in a speckled matte brown glaze that is not somonly found. Simplicity is the statement this vase makes. The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The piece is signed on the bottom with Rookwood's " reverse RP and sunburst logo" along with the Roman numerals XXIII for the year of manufacturing, 1923. It also has the mold number "2105" impressed into the bottom. This is a very nice arts and crafts shape created by Rookwood Pottery. Those of you who collect arts and crafts shaped pottery will surely wee this vase into their collection. It will look great on any Stickley or Mission style furniture.
