AN ARCHAISTIC BROWN JADE CONG WITH ‘PHOENIXES’, QINGChina, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). Crafted in the style of the Liangzhu culture, exemplifying exceptional craftsmanship quality and attention to detail, through the laborious techniques of manual carving and chiseling, the piece achieves a remarkable level of precision and aesthetic beauty, without any evidence of modern tool usage. Of cylindrical form with square projections on four corners, each corner carved with a stylized phoenix design. The opaque stone of brown and green tones with surface alterations.Condition: Good condition with some wear, some nicks and nibbling to the edges. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent.
