A LARGE Chinese Warring States Impressed Pottery Jar with Oxford TL Test (475 - 221 BC). A large and impressive pottery jar made from a fine-grained grey pottery with a smooth surface and bands of lightly incised/burnished decoration surrounding the shoulder and the upper body. Around its middle are two bands of impressed decoration. Unusually, the whole of the outer surface has been cold painted with a thick white pigment. Height 45 cm (17.75 inches), diameter 47 cm (18.5 inches). With Thermoluminescence Analysis Report from Oxford Authentication from 2002. Warring States period (475 – 221 BC). Provenance: from the collection of the late Brian Page (1938-2018), the well-known Oriental art and antiques dealer from Brighton.
