An Exceptionally Large Chinese Neolithic Pottery Jar with Oxford TL test. Made from a reddish pottery, the upper body elaborately painted in various geometric patterns. It has a wide flared mouth and two sturdy loop handles on opposite sides at its waist. Purchased by Mr. Page in the 1990s from Christie’s, London. Height 50.5cm (20 inches), diameter 50cm (19.5 inches). With Thermoluminescence Analysis Report from Oxford Authentication from 1999. Neolithic period, Machang phase (c. 2300 – 2000 BC). Provenance: from the collection of the late Brian Page (1938-2018), the well-known Oriental art and antiques dealer from Brighton.
