The scene represents a basket maker at the water's edge, creating a wicker cradle for someone’s new arrival. Behind the basket maker a sign says "the Bievre Oseraie Father Jacques Vannier." At the right, a young couple possibly contemplates a new purchase. The piece was designed by Froment-Richard aka Antoine-Albert Richard. He has placed his FR initials on the plate. No chips or cracks. IT IS RARE TO FIND ANTIQUE FAIENCE IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION BECAUSE OF WEAR FROM USE AND AGE. TINY GLAZE FLAKES AND CRAZING IS NORMAL AND ADDS CHARACTER TO EACH PIECE.
