Description
Translation provided by Youdao
A Korean Celadon Glazed Stoneware Bottle - Koryo Dynasty. It is quite "heavily-potted" and has a flat shoulder with a cup-shaped mouth. It is coated in a transparent and finely-crackled olive-green glaze that has pooled a little in places around the shoulder. In places the crackle of the glaze has some dark spots/stains and there are minor kiln scars (grit in glaze) to a small part of the lower body. The neck is not entirely straight which, arguably, adds to its charm and appeal. No repair or restoration. Height 26.5 cm (10.5 inches). Koryo Dynasty (AD 918 – 1392). This bottle comes wrapped in a soft blue cloth inside an old black-stained Japanese wooden box. Provenance: from the collection of the late Brian Page (1938-2018), the well-known Oriental art and antiques dealer from Brighton.
